Our friendly school nursery provides a fun and stimulating environment for young children to play and learn, while helping to prepare them for starting primary school.

We welcome three and four-year-olds into our nursery class and offer 15 and 30-hour funded places for eligible families, as well as self-funded options.

Our qualified, dedicated staff follow the Early Years curriculum, encouraging healthy development and building the foundations for a lifelong love of learning. Our timetable, offering free play and structured activities, is designed to inspire and engage little learners and to meet the needs of each individual child.

We would love to show you around our nursery and we offer tours throughout the academic year. You can book a tour here.

Session Times

The nursery is open every day during term-time. Session times are 8.45am–3.15pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.45am–12.45pm on Fridays.

There are three collection times (11.45am, 12.45pm and 3.15pm) and we can offer flexible hours to suit each family’s needs.

Funding

All three or four-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare a week. Some families are entitled to 30 hours. To view the eligibility criteria and apply for this funding, please visit childcarechoices.gov.uk.

We also offer self-funded options, at a cost of £6 per hour. So if you are entitled to 15 hours but would like your child to attend for longer, you can pay for the extra hours.

Admissions

Children normally start in our nursery the September after they turn three, although we may be able to offer an in-year place at other times if one is available.

You can apply for a nursery place directly with us. Please download the application form and return it to office@thewroxham.net.

If there are less than 32 applications, all children will be offered a place. If we receive more applications than places available, our admissions criteria will apply.

View our full admissions arrangements here.

When do I apply?

Applications for September 2023 are now closed. Please get in touch with the school office to see if we still have any spaces available.

Applications for 2024 admissions will open in the Autumn Term.

Please note, a nursery place doesn’t guarantee entry to our Reception class. Families still need to apply for a primary school place via Hertfordshire County Council and places are allocated according to our admissions criteria.
